Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 110th international goal in the World Football Qualifying Tournament today, breaking the historical international scoring record shared by him and Iranian legend Ali Daei.
Ali Daei played for the Iranian national team from 1993 to 2006 and scored 109 goals, becoming the international scoring record holder. Later, Cristiano Ronaldo won the match between Portugal and France in the 2020 European Cup of Nations (Euro 2020). The match tied this record.
Cristiano Ronaldo put on the Portuguese national team jersey today and played against the Ireland in the World Football Qualifying Tournament. During the qualifying round, he scored his 110th and 111 international goals. He defeated Ireland 2-1 in the last and broke the international goal at the same time number of records.
After the game, Ronaldo told Sky Sports: "I am very happy, not only because I broke the record, but because we have this special moment."
